Sama Sebo, Amsterdam
by Adrie Reinders on Dec.05, 2008, under Restaurants
Last night I had a business dinner in Sama Sebo. I have been frequenting Sama Sebo for the past 30 years or so. It is an authentic Indonesian restaurant, where nothing has really changed over all those years. Typically one of those restaurants which cannot be termed “trendy” and where little is spent on the decor, but where you always know you will have an excellent time.
The interesting thing is that you will find all manner of people there, from all walks of life.
The service is extremely professional but at the same time very friendly.
Sama Sebo’s signature dish is a traditional Indonesian “Rijsttafel” – 15 small dishes containing different samples of food. My experience is that the many (American) guests I have taken to Sama’s over the years really appreciate this particular restaurant and will return to it if they can. It is one of those places where you are recognised by name and feel at home.
Not recommended for vegetarians.
